Throughout an entire week of June, the Royal Danish Ballet will celebrate dance and life with a cornucopia of beloved classics and exiting new acquaintances.

The Royal Danish Ballet is August Bournonville, but it is also many other things. Dance is a vibrant art form in constant movement and development, and with this festival – which will unfold on several locations in Copenhagen – we will take stock and focus on what we are at this exact moment in time.

The Ballet Festival will open with one of Bournonville’s most beloved ballets Napoli, and the following evening, we will dedicate an entire evening to the genius of Bournonville with Bournonvilleana, which will include excerpts from some of his most famous works. After this we will present Swan Lake, followed by Kim Brandstrup’s critically acclaimed Shaken Mirror. After Nikolaj Hübbe has taken the stage in Hübberiet, we will devote an evening to modern dance before we end the Festival with a gala evening with the Royal Danish Ballet and international guests.
