Why did you start dancing?
I went to see a circus/theater/shadow performance where one of the artists was on pointe, and I told my parents that I wanted to do the same.
Why is ballet in your opinion still relevant today?
Because ballet and arts in general is the best way to educate people in emotional intelligence and the value of respecting and learning from diversity.
What is so special about the Royal Danish Ballet?
The history and the respect.
Do you have a favorite step from class?
It depends on the day and the mood, honestly.
What is your favorite ballet?
AfteRite by Wayne McGregor.
Who is your favorite dancer?
Pina Bausch, James Thierrée and Emmanuelle Broncin.
What is your favorite food?
My dad’s paella and my mum’s croquetas.
Do you have any hobbies?
Playing the violin, painting and drinking beer.
Is there anything you can’t live without?
Nice friends.
And a little anecdote:
For my last show with my previous company, we were dancing Chopiniana where all the girls were dressed as beautiful sylphs, but I decided to dress and paint myself as an old lady with white hair, a lot of wrinkles and a few black teeth.
