Opera & Musical Theatre Director

Amy is the Head Staff Director at The Royal Opera, Covent Garden.

Born in London, she began her career in stage management, where she worked for three years in London's West End on An Inspector Calls, for four seasons with Diva Opera, finally joining The Royal Opera in 2005, where she was involved with over twenty-five productions. 

As a young singer, she performed with The Royal Opera, English National Opera, British Youth Opera, Opera Holland Park and was a backing singer for Barry Manilow at Wembley Arena.

In 2018, Amy co-directed with Kasper Holten a new commission of Marco Poloin Guangzhou and Beijing and for Sir Bryn Terfel, Amy has stage and video directed Bryn Terfel at 50(Royal Albert Hall), Tosca(RLPO, Welsh National Opera and Eisteddfod) and Falstaff(RLPO).  

Her credits as Associate Director are The Ring Cycle(The Royal Opera), Brothers(Den Jyske Opera and The Icelandic Opera),The Great Gatsby(Semperoper, Dresden), The Merchant of Venice (The Bregenz Festival, Polish National Opera, Welsh National Opera at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden) and as Revival Director, Tosca, Don Giovanni  (The Royal Opera) and Krol Roger(Opera Australia).  In 2015 she created a new production of Noye's Fluddefor the ACT partnership, with performances in Amiens, Compiegne and Cambridge.  For the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Amy has stage and video directed The Spirit of Christmas and Rudolph on Hope Street.  

In 2016, Amy stage and video designed War Horse in Concert,and it has been performed at The Royal Albert Hall with Joanna Lumley and Michael Morpurgo and recorded as an audio book.  It was also recorded for BBC Radio 2, with Simon Callow, Juliet Stevenson and the BBC Concert Orchestra and performed in Edinburgh and Leeds in November 2018.
