Nederlands Dans Theater is one of the world’s leading contemporary dance companies under the artistic direction of choreographer Paul Lightfoot.
The Dutch company is based in The Hague but performs for an audience of more than 100,000 each year in Europe, USA, Asia and Australia. Since its establishment in 1959, Nederlands Dans Theater has built a repertoire of more than 600 ballets and consists of 28 phenomenal dancers from all over the world between the age of 23 and 40. In 1978, the Nederlands Dans Theater created a junior company, NDT 2, which feeds the main company with young talents. Both companies are celebrated as the world’s most characteristic dance companies.
Shoot the Moon portrays a series of three love stories that shine the spotlight on how we as humans express ourselves to each other.
Same Difference is a surreal tale inspired by the chaotic influence the ego has on people, and how easy it is to be distracted.
Stop-Motion is León and Lightfoot’s most recent work in which seven dancers interpret the themes of valediction and transformation set to melancholic compositions by Max Richter.
