FALL

FALL

Experience the sensation of falling

Corpus and Chart Art Fair collaborate for the first time and invite you to a special experience - the sensation of falling

Corpus and CHART are delighted to present FALL.
This is a new work created by choreographer Martin Forsberg and artist Christian Falsnaes, conceived to be performed by an audience together with the members of the dance company Corpus as the first part of Corpus´s and CHART's 3-year collaboration.
The structure and concept of Fall reflects the collaborative nature of this project, as it invites a random audience to join a group of six professional dancers to create a performance together. Ordinary people will physically crash into the setting of a professional dance company where the unexpected physical and psychological reactions of the audience will play a cardinal aesthetic role.

Fall can be experienced at 15:00 and at 17:00 on Sunday 3rd of June in Corpus's homestage A-sal, in the heart of the Royal Danish Theatre. The performances are free and open to all, aged 14+.

For the next three years, CHART and Corpus will jointly develop an annual project, exploring the artistic possibilities across the fields of performing and visual arts.

MARTIN FORSBERG
Martin Forsberg is a Swedish choreographer living in Copenhagen where he runs his project-based company, Fors Works. He has also choreographed several commissions for institutions such as Norrdans, Moscow Chamber Ballet, Skånes Dansteater, Edge (UK), Riksteatern/Tyst Teater and The Royal Danish Ballet.

CHRISTIAN FALSNAES
Before his art studies, Falsnaes made performances and interactions in the public space using his background as a graffiti painter. Since 2009, he has developed performances based on a pre-written script. The study of authority, hierarchies, social, and above all, pop-cultural rituals is an integral part of his art.

CORPUS
Corpus is an autonomous dance company under the umbrella of the Royal Danish Ballet, that investigates what a dance company can be. We ask ourselves how we produce, present, explore and make dance relevant today. Corpus is determined to make our world more physical and challenge the perceptions of what dance is capable of.
To do that, Corpus will test many different types of collaborations and the collaboration with CHART is a significant one.

By joining forces with CHART, Corpus has managed to put together a team of creators that are equally interesting and exciting in their specific fields of work, with the hope to create new ways for choreographers and artists to engage in the development of a new project. New exciting performances, events and happenings that will cater to our audiences ever increasing demands for new experiences are to surface from this collaboration.

CHART
CHART ART FAIR was established in 2013 by Gallery Susanne Ottesen, Galleri Bo Bjerggaard, V1 Gallery, Andersen's Contemporary, and David Risley Gallery, with the aim to challenge the boundaries and experience of a traditional art fair. The ambition was and remains to further develop the impact and role of a Nordic art event on the international art and cultural scene. Over 18,000 people visited CHART 2016, making it the most popular edition yet.
