Why did you start dancing?
I started doing ballet when I was three years old, and I am sure my parents had no idea what they were getting themselves into when they brought me to that first class. In the many years since then, I have fallen in love with this incredible art form, and am so privileged to call it my profession.

Why do you think ballet is still relevant today?
Ballet is remarkable in my eyes in its ability to convey so many facets of humanity in a wordless performance. I find storytelling and emotions are intrinsic to every piece, regardless of how abstract they may seem. As artists, we hope to make the viewers feel something, and it is this connection between the dancers and audience that I strive for in my work.

Where do we find you on a day off?
Aside from ballet, I am seriously addicted to reading. I always have a good book on me, and can usually be found reading outside of the studios between rehearsals. My other great linguistic love is crossword puzzles. Sitting down Sunday morning to a coffee and a crossword is simply idyllic.
