Inevitably, smiles light up when talk falls on Le nozze di Figaro, one of Mozart’s most beloved works

Le nozze di Figaro – or The Marriage of Figaro – is a merry mix of love entanglements, featuring strong-willed women and confounded men who slowly learn a thing or two. Naturally, it all concludes with a happy ending as befits a comedy.

The Old Stage is the setting for Mozart’s opera in all its glory, performed by the Royal Danish Theatre’s soloist ensemble with Palle Knudsen and Henning von Schulmann alternating as Figaro and with Sine Bundgaard and Anke Briegel sharing the female lead role.

The production is directed by the acclaimed Reumert Award winning Elisa Kragerup, who has in recent seasons been affiliated with the Red Room at the Royal Danish Playhouse where last season she staged sold-out performances of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet at the Main Stage. With Le nozze di Figaro, Kragerup takes the leap into the world of opera. Conversely, audiences can look forward to how this great classic takes a leap of faith into the world of Elisa Kragerup.

Le nozze di Figaro is performed in Italian with Danish supertitles. Hempel A/S is the exclusive performance sponsor of Le nozze di Figaro..
