The anniversary concert The Harmonious Sound of Koto is a concert of traditional Japanese music featuring some of the most prestigious performers from the Tokyo University of the Arts (TUA) to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Denmark.

The "koto" is a traditional Japanese stringed musical instrument, and the primary koto player, Mr. Shoin Hagioka, succeeded to the title and established mastership as Shoin Hagioka Ⅳ in 1980. This is the first time for TUA, which is the only national university (of the arts) in Japan that offers traditional Japanese music programs, to perform in Denmark. We hope that you will enjoy The Harmonious Sound of Koto in ensemble with other traditional Japanese instruments –the shamisen, shakuhachi and tsudzumi.

この日本の伝統音楽のコンサート「筝の響き」は、東京藝術大学の最も質の高い演奏家により、日・デンマーク外交関係樹立150周年を記念して開催されるものです。演奏家の一人である萩岡松韻は、1980年に四代萩岡松韻を継承した山田流箏曲萩岡派の宗家です。今回の公演は、邦楽のプログラムを日本で唯一提供している国立の総合芸術大学である東京藝術大学にとって初めてのデンマークでのコンサートとなります。日本の伝統楽器である、箏・三味線・尺八・鼓が奏でる「日本の響き」のひとときを、お楽しみください。
