Corpus + Sebastian Matthias = Ghosting
Please notice that the show will take place in A-salen, Tordenskjoldsgade 10.
How does it feel to be ghosted in flesh and blood? Corpus invites you to a physical encounter with the creatures of the internet.
With the use of smartphone devices and social media our communication practices have changed. The lack of a physical body in digital communication gives rise to social phenomena as ghosting, trolling and lurking. How can we investigate these phenomena physically? What is the physical experience of lurking? Of trolling or being trolled? What forms do internet creatures take when they encounter the physical world?
For this Corpus production, the creative team, Masaru Iwai, Ida Lundén and Sebastian Matthias would like to explore these digital bodies from the perspectives of choreography, music, image and fantasy. To create an environment where we can encounter these bodies, we need to bring the audiences into the performative setting.
The audience is invited to log onto an IP address with their smartphones and choose between a live video or music feed. Being able to move freely in the open stage setting, the audience member can meet their own ghosts. Ghosting is a piece about proximity and distance, about bodily interactions and empathy in the digital age.
Ghosting is a co-production with CHART, the leading contemporary art fair and cultural event in the Nordic region. CHART takes place at Kunsthal Charlottenborg and Den Frie from 31 August - 2 September 2018. Read more
