My name is Mathieu, I am a French ballet dancer at the Royal Theatre and also an analogue photographer. Back in 2022 I started to photograph around the theatre with my mother’s film camera.
I named the project after my theater name: MARO.
I have the opportunity to capture wonderful moments of our daily work life at the theater whether in the studio, the backstage or during performances. This exclusivity of so many incredible situations to photograph, my eye as a professional dancer together with the quality of the analogue photography create some stunning visuals.
